MARCO MAUERHOFER
Guarda opere singole
Marco Mauerhofer is a young man from Locarno, Ticino, Switzerland.
I approached art as a self-taught artist, collaborating with Joel Thiebaud, another young artist who was studying in csia . Together we have created several exhibitions in multiple locations. I also created several works on commission, both private and public, including a mural in Brissago for Colora SA and in Santa Caterina in Locarno.
My works are an eclectic combination of historical, contemporary and personal influences.
Many of my works are about people from different cultures. I’m a cosmopolitan who feels part of the whole world and not just one place. Everyone is part of a whole. We are drops of an abyss made of a single substance.
Through my painting I intends to explore the relationship between the universe, the human, animal, nature and digital. I also use new technologies such as artificial intelligence to play with the image and create new compositions, and ways of seeing the world beyond my own mind. I also really like to work in group, where I can blend my ideas with other people and be able to compose like an orchestra an art piece.
I’m passionate about art in all its forms, and my influences for my art practice tend to be inspired from Baroque, Renaissance, Flemish and medieval painting to South American magical realism and currents such as surrealism.
